How to create wallpaper from any Windows application
1 - Press ALT-PrintScreen to capture the active window to
the clipboard.
2 - Run Paintbrush
3 - Click Edit/Paste to copy the bitmap in.
4 - Edit the bitmap if desired.
5 - Use the pick or scissors tool to define the area to save.
6 - Click on Edit/Copy to replace the original bitmap with
the edited/cropped one.
7 - Click on File/New
8 - Click on "No" to the "save changes?" warning.
9 - Click on Edit/Paste to copy the bitmap back to Paintbrush.
10 - Click on a different tool to get rid of the dotted outline.
11 - Click on View/Cursor Position. The X,Y coordinates of
the mouse cursor are displayed in the upper right-hand
corner of Paintbrush.
12 - Position the cursor at the lower right-hand corner of
the pasted bitmap area & note the coordinates.
13 - Click on File/New
14 - Click on No to the "save changes?" warning.
15 - Click on Options/Image Attributes.
16 - Click on "pels" in the "Units" box.
17 - Enter the X in the "width" and Y in the "height" boxes.
18 - Click on Edit/Paste: the bitmap fills the box.
19 - Click on a different tool to get rid of the dotted outline.
20 - Click on "File"/"Save As" and name the image.
21 - Click on the "Save file type as" box for 16- or 256-color
or 24-bit BMP format.
22 - Change the wallpaper with Control Panel.
